Anna Saraceno is a partner of Studio Benessia-Maccagno.
Ms Saraceno gained significant experience in the areas of the intellectual property law (both contentious and non-contentious) and commercial contracts, with particular reference to licence agreements. In particular, Anna advises universities and research centres in the field of transfer of technology and for the regulation and exploitation of the patent portfolio. She also carried out due diligence activities, dealing with the evaluation of the legal issues concerning corporate intellectual property. Ms Saraceno represents Italian and foreign clients, in litigation disputes in the different areas of intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, domain names, geographical indications, designs and models, trade secrets, copyright, unfair competition, Internet and e-commerce, advertising.
After graduating, she attended the Post-Graduate Specialisation Course on Intellectual Property, organised by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) and by the University of Turin. She started practising law and worked for a prominent international law firm, with Italian offices in Turin, Milan and Rome, and from 2005 she co-founded a law firm primarily active in the field of intellectual property and of national and international commercial contracts. Anna is a partner of the law firm since 2015.
Lecturer at Politecnico di Torino, in the past for the course “Fundamentals of Law for Internet and E-Business” of the Master in E-Business and ICT for Management, Anna currently teaches the “Law on industrial and intellectual property rights and on competition” within the “Commercial Law” course and the “Innovation and International Transaction Law” course. Lecturer and speaker in several courses and seminars on industrial and intellectual property law.
Anna Saraceno is regularly published by major Italian law journals (Giurisprudenza Italiana, Il Diritto d’Autore, Rivista di Diritto Industriale, Contratto e Impresa/Europa, Giurisprudenza Commerciale). She is a long term staff editor at the law journal Giurisprudenza Italiana. Ms Saraceno co-authored the book “Il diritto dei marchi d’impresa (Law of Trademarks)” (UTET, 2009) and contributed to the volume “Codice della proprietà industriale: la riforma 2010 (Code of industrial property: the 2010 reform)”, directed by Professor Cesare Galli (IPSOA, 2010); moreover, she drafted comments (to articles 46, 47, 62, 63, 64, 65 and 243 c.i.p.) for the commentary “Codice commentato della Proprietà Industriale e Intellettuale (Commentary of the Code of Industrial and Intellectual Property)”, directed by Professors Galli and Gambino (UTET Giuridica 2011). Co-author of the book “I provvedimenti cautelari (Precautionary proceedings)”, directed by Professor Antonio Carratta (Zanichelli, 2013). She drafted the comments to articles 2588, 2589 and 2590 of the Italian Civil Code for the volume “Codice civile commentato (Commentary of the Civil Code)”, directed by Professors Alpa and Mariconda (Wolters Kluwer Italia, 2013).
Ms Saraceno was admitted to the Turin Bar in 2003.
